The importance of adapting
In May, Rob and Steve travelled to Côte d'Ivoire - here's Rob's account of how they tailored the training on site to best meet our customer's needs:
Earlier this year myself and Steve Sleep, SpillConsult Specialists, travelled to the Côte d'Ivoire to train one of our customer's IMT in Incident Management Systems (IMS). The customer is starting a drilling campaign in the region and wanted to ensure their team are well trained and disciplined in Emergency Management, should an incident occur during this initial period.
Having arrived in country the team started delivering the essential training adhering to all COVID safety regulations on site. However, whilst delivering and in turn gaining a better understanding of the IMT team, it soon became apparent that the standardised course was not as applicable for this team. Therefore we adapted the course in situ to be more specific to this IMTs needs, and their risks.
This was hugely appreciated by our customer and the IMT members with excellent feedback from all, it is yet another example of how adaptability and flexibility whilst delivering training is crucial and can benefit all parties.
