A SpillConsult team delivered an ICS 300 (Incident Command System) incident management training course of 25 delegates to one super-majors between 22nd – 24th February in Vancouver, Canada.
ICS is becoming the oil industry global standard for managing all manner of incidents and we are seeing many companies going through the challenge of implementing this system.
The ICS 300 course is a compliant 3-day course, which provides tools to manage an incident or event. A combination of demonstrations, tabletop and interactive exercise, this course describes how the Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents. Explains the management process for supervisors as prescribed by the Incident Command System (ICS). The course allows the development and implementation of an Incident Action Plan (IAP) and the management process on a simulated tier-3 incident. Specific units covered include the a review of ICS fundamentals; an overview of Command; Incident/Event Assessment and Incident Objectives; the Planning Process; Incident Resource Management and Demobilization, Transfer of Command, and Closeout.
ICS uses common processes for planning and managing resources. it is flexible and can be used for incidents of any type, scope and complexity. It allows its users to adopt an integrated organizational structure to match the complexities and demands of the incident.
