Who cares wins
Often companies are unprepared or unaware of their responsibilities, for caring for people and their families, in the event of serious injury or death whilst at work.
Should the worst happen, companies need to have the skills and knowledge to provide initial and longer term support to all those affected.
Ask yourself..........
Do you have a plan or process in place, to deal with the consequences of serious injury or death of your staff, at work or whilst travelling to or on behalf of work?
Are you trained to be able to support families of your employees, should the worst happen?
Are you prepared to deliver the notification of death, to the families of your employees, who die whilst working overseas?
Are you ready to answer phone calls from concerned family members and friends in the event of a Major Incident?
SpillConsult help companies to prepare for the unthinkable, and ensure they can effectively care for their employees, in the most difficult circumstances.
All of our Care for People courses are developed and delivered by an experienced team, who have worked with bereaved families following murders, accidental deaths and major disasters. Rona Grimmer and Marion Wahle who head up our Care for People services, have over 70 years of experience in dealing with these situations, initially with the Police but more recently delivering consultancy to companies across the globe, from Scotland to Singapore.
SpillConsult have designed three courses which allow companies to prepare themselves to care for their people in some of the most difficult situations imaginable.
Breaking Bad News – The notification of death following a major incident in the UK is the responsibility of the Police. There is a perception that the Police in other countries also take on this responsibility – this is often not the case. This training prepares companies to deliver a notification of death to families should the worst happen.
Family Liaison – In the UK, the notification of death is carried out by Police Officers. However, the Police will now ask companies to provide company personnel in a Family Liaison role to help support the families of the deceased. This training uses role play and practical skill sessions to fully prepare personnel to carry out this difficult role.
Responding to Relatives – In the event of an emergency involving their staff, employers need to be able to provide concerned friends and families with information about their loved ones and what the company is doing to respond to the incident. This course prepares delegates for the difficult job of handling calls from concerned callers.
