Virtual Incident Command Post

Last month we had an exciting opportunity to run an oil spill exercise for bp Shipping using a specially designed VICP created by SpillConsult (more about our VICP in link).

Working closely with bp Mauritania and Senegal, where the simulated ship collision took place, we successfully coordinated and facilitated the IMT from across the globe remotely.

As the exercise drew to a close, the team felt noticeably more confident that, should the worst occur, they have the skills and systems in place to respond effectively.

It was excellent to see the two IMTs collaborate and strengthen their incident management capabilities, demonstrating that meaningful training and teamwork can be achieved even when teams cannot meet in person.
