Consulting in Mauritania
Earlier this month, two of our consultants, Steve Sleep and Elle Brown, travelled to Nouakchott, Mauritania.
This visit followed the first stage of the project, during which we supplied shoreline response preparedness equipment and storage solutions to the client’s supply base.
The purpose of Steve and Elle’s trip was to assist one of our key customers in developing their oil spill response preparedness and operational capability ahead of a forthcoming drilling campaign in the region.
Given the remoteness of the location and the operational risks involved, it was essential that this scope of work was completed to the highest standards.
The assignment required long days in high temperatures, but the team succeeded in organising the equipment in a logical, systemised manner to enable a rapid and effective response if an incident occurs.
In addition, the SpillConsult Ltd team, working closely with the client, used the opportunity to deliver bespoke theoretical and practical training sessions to the local workforce, reinforcing skills and ensuring the procedures and equipment were fully understood.
