This week SpillConsult co-ordinated the simulation of a multi-agency joint on-water and Incident Command Post (ICP) exercise for Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.

The one-day exercise was carefully designed to test WCMRC’s ability to respond to a 2,500‑tonne oil spill, delivered as part of their Transport Canada certification program. The event involved more than 200 participants working both in the field and within the ICP, supported by 18 vessels and extensive response equipment deployed on the water.

SpillConsult is proud of its ongoing relationship supporting WCMRC and the west coast of Canada in strengthening oil spill response preparedness and operational readiness.
