SpillConsult Ltd have recently returned from Jakarta, Indonesia, where we supported a long standing client with the delivery of a large scale exercise.

Run over two days, the exercise challenged the Jakarta based Incident Management Team to manage a simulated incident in Sorong, Papua, with operational and people implications.

Principal Consultant Rona Grimmer and Consultant John Halfacre spent several months working closely alongside the client to help design and develop the exercise.

For the delivery phase of the exercise, Rona and John were joined in Jakarta by SpillConsult Director Stuart Gair and Senior Consultant Rachel Davis.

With over 50 local employees participating in the exercise, assisted by the client’s own global support team, the amount of moving parts meant a very challenging exercise not only for the ‘players’ but also for the facilitation team.

Exercises like this, run in a learning environment, are the best way to work through company procedures and identify future training requirements.
