Alan brings over two decades of leadership and operational experience across maritime sectors, law enforcement and emergency response.

Recently promoted to Team Leader, Alan has spent the last five years at bp becoming proficient in dealing with the demands of 24/7 incident management within the oil and gas industry.

His prior 30-year tenure with Police Scotland included supervisory roles in frontline policing, training development/mentoring, intelligence led investigations, firearms deployments and covert informant operations, where he led multi-agency initiatives and managed high-pressure, security-critical teams.

Alan's maritime experience as a Navigation Officer, occasionally on North Sea support vessels, coupled with OPITO-accredited emergency management training, equips him with deep insight into offshore operational environments.

A skilled communicator and trainer, Alan excels in stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and procedural improvement.
